Organic Evolution

I think of the painting process as the laying down and simultaneous covering up of information/meaning. it is this ambiguity of availability that creates an intellectual tension in the viewer’ mind. “what am I looking at and what does it mean?”

Recently I have been injecting imagery into my work through the process of screen printing.  I generally like the imagery to be presented in such a way that it is  still mostly delegated to patterns and shapes but again, there in lies the conflict: “I recognize this as something from my world yet it seems to be functioning in a new way here.”
